The Cure — John Lynch, Bruce McNicol y Bill Thrall
The Cure dismantles the idea that God is disappointed in us, and that real change comes from more effort and more shame. The authors argue that genuine transformation is born from being known and loved as we are, not from performing well enough to earn acceptance.
Why I recommend it. It's the necessary counterweight to any language of "excellence" or "high performance." Before asking a leader or a team to improve, you have to make sure they're not trying to earn something already given to them. That distinction changes completely how I design the work in Restaura.do.

Ordering Your Private World — Gordon MacDonald
Gordon MacDonald writes about the gap between the public world we show and the private world that holds up everything else. His thesis is simple and demanding: when the private world (inner discipline, time with God, rest, calling) is in order, the public world sustains itself. When it isn't, no external achievement makes up for it for long.
Why I recommend it. I recommend it because it talks about restoration without using that word in the opening pages. MacDonald doesn't start with the system or the strategy; he starts with the inner order of the person leading. It's exactly the starting point I hold to in Restaura.do: you can't restore an organization from a leadership that is disordered on the inside.
