Travel with purpose, not with an itinerary

A journey with purpose doesn’t need a tight itinerary. It needs a clear intention and the willingness to let the road surprise you. The destination matters less than the question you carry with you.

That intention, in my work, has a concrete name: taking leadership teams, or a single leader who needs that space alone, to Punta Cana for an external experience of organizational restoration, with the whole ecosystem under my control. Flights, VIP airport reception, transfers, the hotel, the working sessions, an additional experience designed for the group, spa, and guided visits. It isn’t a travel incentive dressed up as a retreat. It’s a space designed end to end so a person, or a whole team, can think through their purpose without the office’s interruptions.

Taking a team out of its usual geography does something no boardroom manages: it removes the usual excuses. No urgent meeting interrupts, no inbox is in view, no one is watching the clock for the next call. All that’s left is the question they brought and the people they’re going to answer it with.

That’s why I control the whole ecosystem of the trip. It isn’t luxury for its own sake: every piece, from the airport to the spa, is calculated to hold the conversation the team needs to have, not to distract from it. The itinerary exists, but it serves the intention, never the other way around.

In the end, what a team (or a person) takes home from Punta Cana isn’t a beach memory. It’s the clarity of who they are when no one is watching them work.
